Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

We're bridging the broadband gap in Alabama.

The Alabama State Department of Education launched Alabama Student Connect to help students and teachers who currently lack high-speed broadband internet service or devices get access to the internet.

The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program is a new program that provides a temporary discount on home internet bills for qualifying low-income households.  Alabama Student Connect can help connect families to the EBB program.

Eligible households can qualify for:

  • Monthly Benefit: Up to a $50/month discount on your broadband service and associated equipment rentals
  • Enhanced Tribal Benefit: Up to a $75/month discount if your household is on qualifying Tribal lands
  • One-time Device Discount: Up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50) where available

Visit or call 1-888-728-0422 (toll-free).  Representatives are available from 8 AM - 7 PM (CT) Monday - Friday and 9 AM - 5 PM (CT) Saturday.
