Degrees and Certifications:
I am so excited about working as the counselor for Berry Elementary School! This is my fifth year as a school counselor and I enjoy my job very much! I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Mississippi University for Women in 1999. I later earned my Master's degree in school counseling from The University of West Alabama. I began my career in education as a teacher in the Pickens County school system. In 2004, I accepted a position at Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center as a prevention and community outreach coordinator. During my ten years at Northwest, I coordinated prevention and community oureach education for both children and adults in a five county area. In addition to coordinating these services, I was a trained Parent Project Sr. and Jr. instructor and was a certified Mental Health First Aide instructor.
My husband Brad and I are members of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. I have three children; McKenzie, Rylee, and Brady. When I am not at school, I love attending my children's extracurricular activities, reading, traveling, and spending time with my family.
