Michelle Burns

Hello! My name is Michelle Burns and I am so excited to be teaching 2nd Grade at FES! This is my fifth year at FES, and my 11th year teaching. I am loving every minute!  I am originally from Fayette. I walked these same hallways that your child walks daily!   I graduated from Fayette County High School in 2008.  I attended Bevill State from 2008-2010, where I served as an Ambassador and SGA President.  I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi University for Women (MUW) in December of 2012.  I hold a Master's Degree in Gifted Education from the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!), which I earned in August of 2015.  I have taught Gifted Education for Tuscaloosa County schools and Hale County schools.

Here is a little about me:

-I knew I wanted to be a teacher since Kindergarten. I would go home in the afternoons and play school.

-I love to read, paint, cook and pretty much any kind of DIY project.

-My favorite place is anywhere near water.

-I love anything "artsy."

-History was my favorite subject in school (and still is!).

-I love anything chocolate (except Fudge)!

I am so excited to be at "home" and to be your child's teacher!  It's going to be a great year!
