Ms. Busby grew up in Trussville, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Mobile in 2012 with a dual Bachelor's Degree degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, and graduated from the University of West Alabama in 2020 with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She was a substitute teacher from 2012-2015 in several school systems around the Birmingham area before teaching 6th grade at Tarrent Intermediate School in Tarrant, Alabama. She taught at TIS until 2021. In August 2021, she began teaching at Berry Elementary School. This is her 9th year teaching and all 9 years have been in 6th grade. She has taught reading, writing, grammar, and history all 9 years. 

She lives in Northport, Alabama, with her two dogs: Scout and Koda. She loves hiking in the mountains, reading, photography, and videography.
