My name is Melanie Trull, and I teach 7th and 8th grade science. This is my 31st year teaching in Fayette County.  Twenty-five of those years have been spent at Fayette Middle School and six of those years I spent teaching at Fayette County High School. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in both Biology and English. I earned a Master of Education in Instructional Technology in 2000 from Mississippi State University and completed my National Certificate for STEM Education in 2022 through the National Institute for STEM Education.  I also have an endorsement in Business Education. During my 31 years of teaching, I have taught English, courses in basic computer and multimedia, business education courses, computer science, and I am currently in my 4th year of teaching science. This has been my favorite teaching assignment so far, and I look forward to teaching your children!

I have been married 30 years to Ray Trull, and we have two children. Our son, Korlan, is also an educator in Fayette County and currently teaches at FCHS! He has been married to Emma for 2 years.  Our daughter, Morgan, is currently completing her certificate in real estate and plans to pursue her career in south Alabama. We have 2 dogs, Dakota and Ellie, and are still excitedly waiting for our grandchildren! 

In my spare time, I enjoy being an active member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Vernon, where I am part of the youth committee, the praise team, director of the youth choir, and assist my husband in teaching a college and career class.  I love to sing and play piano, paint, design and create shirts, read, and travel with family.
