Human Resources Mission Statement
The mission of the Human Resources Department is to recruit, hire, and retain the very best employees who are committed to the Fayette County Board of Education as they strive to ensure our goal of increasing overall academic achievement for all students.
Our department will support the goals and challenges of the Fayette County School System by providing services which promote a work environment that is characterized by fair treatment of staff, open communications, personal accountability, trust and mutual respect.
Our office is located in the basement of the County Annex Building just behind the Fayette County Courthouse (103 1st Avenue, NW). Hours of operation are 8:00 am-4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am-3:30 pm Friday. You may contact us at (205) 932-4611, Extension 231 or 232.
Application for Employment Procedures
Fayette County Board of Education is no longer accepting paper applications with the excception of Substitute applications. All application for employment must be online through the Teach In Alabama website at the State Department of Education. To make application, please click on the Links tab under Personnel Section and it will take you directly to the application process. There are three secrions to the process as follows: 1) Certified (Teachers who possess Teaching Certificates), 2) Administrative (Teachers who also possess an Educational Administrative Certificate, and 3) Classified (Sercretaries, Aides, Custodians, Child Nutrition, etc)
